Tangerine

For the many folks that have inquired fondly about my art, here is my entry for the LCAL Spring show and critique at the Jack and Benny center for arts.  The address is 39 Jack Benny Dr, Waukegan, IL 60085

I have added pictures below to show the work in progress. I started with a black background.  It is not a flat black but a slightly bluish black on left and pitch black on the right. Even though tangerine is the subject of this painting, I was drawn more to the subtle reflections in the glass bowl and also the color of the pyrex glass on the rim.  

 The tangerine took many layers of different shades of orange, crimson, scarlet, red, brown and yellow.
